What is life if not a great event?

Think about it: it is conceived, needs care, develops, and finally dissolves. The stages of life, reflect the various steps in the creation and organisation of an event. And being in love with the former, I could only espouse, as a mission, the latter.

Eventopolis has been in existence since January 2005, but in a way I have been active in this area for as long as I can remember. From kindergarten to school, from football matches to a decent career as a referee: when it came to organising something, almost everyone took a step back in the counting of those available. I, on the other hand, was there. I was attracted to it, to experiment first and foremost and out of a desire to know, to know. I wanted to test myself, to touch, I was curious to see what happened and what could be organised.

And curiosity, over the years, has driven me to be a traveller, going to different continents, discovering places, meeting different people and cultures.

My studies have also been special, in a way transversal. After compulsory schooling and work experience in a 5-star hotel in the Engadine, I went back to Bluche, Valais, to obtain a diploma at the Hotel Management School, continuing in the United States, in North Carolina, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I then consolidated what I had learnt in North Carolina as an assistant hotel manager. My interest in hospitality and marketing grew, leading me to attend a Master in Marketing (Leicester, UK ) part time, alas pending.

What I had inside me was a great need to explore, to learn, to experiment in a polyvalent way, and so I was fortunate enough to work in different professions, both in hospitality and marketing. In Switzerland, Europe and the United States, bringing me into contact with very different traditions, habits and cultures.

Over the years, the wealth of experience has turned into a melting pot that has generated new opportunities. Among these was the dream in the drawer to create something of my own, to put what I had absorbed to good use, which would allow me to put myself out there on a daily basis.

Travelling, I found inspiration. On a beach in South East Asia, the idea arose to call the agency I founded, together with Clarissa, Eventopolis!

I am convinced that another important aspect of my professional mission is listening. Whether it is a customer or a supplier, it is by listening to my interlocutor that I find solutions, that I activate that visceral problem-solving ability that sets me apart, which, combined with a deep curiosity and desire to know, results in the generation of solutions, so important and so demanded by our customers on a daily basis.

Living in the world of events is very attractive and stressful at the same time. The challenges are many. The pressure is high, every event is, for the customer, the EVENT. And when between success and failure a detail makes the difference, concentration and speed of execution are the key factors.

Apart from travelling, for me the famous decompression chamber, necessary to clear my head and put life's real priorities into context, is the cooker. In my spare time, I dabble and try to nourish, from the same plate, palate and soul.

Being what you really are

This is the natural drive that has always accompanied me. Various passions, such as communication, art and psychology have marked my path, alongside innate skills linked to a natural sense of organisation and continuous inner research.

I ‘inaugurated’ the newly founded Faculty of Communication Sciences at USI in the first round of enrolment, which then included a Master's degree and an internship in a company. I believe in the importance of the HERE AND NOW and of seizing what life presents you with. The fruit of this experience is the thesis The valorisation of the event in a company's communication strategy. The Cornèr case, which leads me to obtain a Master of Science in Communication, but above all to enter the world of events, from theory to practice. I worked for eight years at the bank and at the same time felt the urge to set up my own business. With Diego, the dream became reality and, in 2005, we founded the Eventopolis SA agency.

The challenge of independence is great and at the same time very stimulating, on all fronts, including that of relationships between people. I meet a lot of them, CEOs of companies, marketing managers, journalists, corporate communicators... and the interest goes beyond events, which are communication tools and, first and foremost, in my opinion, they are canvases on which to weave relationships.

In those years, after specific training, I also began working as a professional Counselor, but above all, I became a mother to a wonderful child. Motherhood changes your life—not only that, it also changes your brain. I read about it in scientific studies, and I experience it firsthand.

With motherhood, I acquired a whole new set of skills—a kind of soft skills—extremely useful for my profession. Leadership, relational communication, project management, to name a few. Neuroscience confirms that motherhood promotes brain plasticity, which is our brain’s ability to quickly adapt to new contexts, whether stressful or positive, starting with the ability to establish and nurture effective relationships.

My work is important but also very stressful. Events require long preparation times and extremely fast execution. In certain moments, the ability to react, manage responsibility, make quick decisions, and tap into fast problem-solving makes all the difference. It constantly challenges me to confront time and space, life priorities, my own emotions and those of my clients, and my limits. Balancing all of this and accessing inner resources is essential.

For years, I have practiced daily meditation, which is indispensable both for my personal growth and for the support I can offer to others, as well as for my work in event organization. I alternate my passion for art with personal study, which over the years has led me to become a certified Mindfulness MBSR/MBCT teacher, a psycho-oncology consultant (SUPSI), a graduate in Cognitive Psychology in Health Communication, and a psychotherapist in training. This last specialization follows the path of psychology and health communication, a field in which I hope to apply my skills in the future.
